The line graph below shows past and current overweight rates, as well as a projected future overweight rate in nine selected countries.

Summarise the infonnation by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The line graph illustrates the proportion of overweight rates in the past as well in future for nine different countries.

Overall, all countries had overweight rate below half until the early 2000s while, the USA is projecting higher rate of overwieght, Korea expecting lowest overweight rate in future.

It can be clearly seen that, the USA had an overweight below 50% around 1970. While it is projected to have the highest overweight around 75% by the year 2030. Additionally korea has lowest overweight around 30% in 200s, but it is projected to have the overweight around 35% in year 2030.

Furthermore, countries like Canada, England and Spain was around 50% from year 200s to 2010.which expected to around 55% in future, but England have second highest overwight less than 5% than USA. While countries like Austria, Italy , France and Australia had overweight ratios between 30% to in the year around 1990 and 2010, these are projected to reached around 45% by the year 2030.
