Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response falls significantly short of the 150-word minimum, containing only 89 words, and trails off mid-sentence at the end. Because of this severe length penalty, the task is only partially addressed. While the writer attempts an overview and mentions a few countries such as the USA and Korea, the information presented is very limited and contains factual inaccuracies based on the graph, such as stating that the USA reached 75% in 2020 (the actual figure is 74%). Key features and comparisons are underdeveloped, resulting in a low band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5

The text is organized with a basic introduction and an overview paragraph, but it breaks down rapidly due to the incomplete nature of the writing and the abrupt ending. Paragraphing is attempted, but the lack of sufficient content makes overall progression difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are minimal, with simple transitions like 'over all' and 'whereas', and referencing becomes unclear as the response trails off.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and contains numerous spelling and word-form errors, such as 'ocecd contries', 'higest', 'country' instead of 'countries', 'lagest', and 'sightly'. There are also typos like 'revels' instead of 'reveals' or 'ranks'. The lexical range is extremely limited and inadequate for a proper academic summary, causing noticeable strain for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammar is extremely basic, consisting of very few complete sentences, and the text ends abruptly in the middle of a sentence. Punctuation is poorly handled, with missing capitalizations for proper nouns ('usa', 'england', 'korea') and sentences strung together with commas improperly. Frequent errors in basic structures and the inability to complete the response pull the grammar score down.
