The line graph below shows past and current overweight rates, as well as a projected future overweight rate in nine selected countries.

Summarise the infonnation by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The line graph shows us the percentage of individulas who are overweight from both past and present.

overall,America faces the largest percentage of overweight individuals while Korea has the lowest percentage of overweight people.

If we talk about America the percentage of people who were overweight was around 46 or 47%. Eventhough this number decrease in 1980 but after 1980 this number increases tremendously. And in1990 over 50 % people were found overweight. While in austria a survey in 1984 shows that 39 % of the total population was overweigth this number does not change much in 1990. But by 2000 this number increases and in 2020 a survey shows that in austria 48% of the total population in austria are overweight. And by 2020 around 74% of americas total population is overweight.

Now if we look at the report prepare in korea by 2000 only around 25% people are overweight and by 2020 this number increases up to 35%.
