Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response falls significantly short of the word count requirement, containing only 59 words compared to the minimum of 150 words. Because of this severe underlength, the task is only partially addressed, and the response fails to provide a fully developed overview or detailed comparison of the data. While the student attempts an introductory sentence and touches on a couple of general trends, the information presented is too limited and fragmentary to meet higher standards.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some basic organisation attempted through introductory referencing and basic linking words such as 'furthermore' and 'additionally'. However, the overall progression is limited, and the text lacks distinct paragraphing due to its brevity. Cohesive devices are sometimes used mechanically or inaccurately, and the referencing between ideas is not always clear, which restricts the text to a lower-intermediate level of coherence.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is a mix of basic and minimally adequate terms, such as 'proportion', 'overweight', and 'increasing upward'. There are noticeable errors in word choice, form, and punctuation—such as 'itlay' and 'citizen have major proportion'—alongside awkward phrasing like 'trend is also increasing upward'. These lexical limitations and errors reflect a restricted range that occasionally strains comprehension.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response features a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple or poorly linked clauses. There are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and capitalization, such as missing articles, incorrect subject-verb agreement ('the US citizen have'), and unpunctuated lists ('England,Spain, itlay'). These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and demonstrate a lack of control over complex grammatical forms.
