Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify several important overall patterns: the USA remains highest, Korea remains lowest, and Australia rises substantially. You also make relevant comparisons, such as Canada and Spain ending at similar levels. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: England is not consistently second, since Australia is projected to overtake it by the end, and Austria, Italy and France do not converge at one point; their final rates are approximately 47%, 46%, and 44%. The claim that Spain surpasses Canada is also not supported by the final figures, which are close, with Canada slightly higher. The response covers the task, but some comparisons need more precise support and development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and two detail paragraphs, and it groups several countries together. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. The overview moves abruptly from England to Spain and Australia, then to three countries said to coincide, without a clear organising principle. Linking expressions such as “Secondly,” “Where,” and “On the other hand” are sometimes awkward or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. The final paragraph also shifts between Austria, Australia, France, Italy and Korea. Organise details into clearer groups—for example, the highest-rising countries and the lower-rate countries—and use references and transitions that make each comparison explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “proportion,” “growth rate,” “fluctuation,” and “surpass,” and the reader can generally understand the trends you intend to describe. However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “top teir,” “singular point,” “bounces back,” and “reach at 3rd position.” Spelling errors, including “wiil,” “postion,” “Canad,” and “strated,” also reduce accuracy. Some phrases are repeated, particularly “till the end of graph.” Aim for standard, precise language for describing data, such as “remain the highest,” “converge,” and “by 2020,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “but,” “where,” and “on the other hand.” Nevertheless, errors occur often enough to make some sentences awkward or unclear. For example, “Korea will little growth rate will remain” has an incomplete grammatical structure, while “Australia has the highest growth rate will surpass many countries” joins clauses without a suitable connector. There are also problems with articles, agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “graph demonstrates” and “France and italy has.” Use a clear subject and verb in each clause, and separate or connect ideas correctly. More accurate control of these patterns would make your comparisons easier to follow.
