Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the broad pattern of rising overweight rates and give an overview that highlights the USA as highest and Korea as lowest. Most reported figures are close to the chart, including the USA’s rise to about 73% and Korea’s increase to around 35%. However, the overview overgeneralises: the USA is not highest throughout the entire period shown, and the countries’ data do not all extend across the same years. Some details are also less fully developed; for example, Austria and France are mentioned only briefly, while the notable fluctuations in Canada and England are omitted. A more precise overview and a clearer selection of key comparisons would make the report more complete and accurate.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs grouping country figures. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and transitions such as “Similarly,” “Furthermore,” and “Finally” help signal the progression. However, the linking can feel mechanical because several countries are added in a list rather than compared directly. The opening overview also contains an unclear transition in “Where, the USA,” and the final sentence joins two complete ideas with a comma. Grouping countries by their rates or by similar trends, then using clearer comparisons between them, would strengthen progression and make the connections between details more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.5

You use an adequate range of task-relevant vocabulary, including “proportion,” “witnessed a … growth,” “rose substantially,” and “climbed,” with enough variation to avoid repeating “increased” throughout. Several expressions are appropriate for describing trends, and the meaning remains clear. To show more flexible and precise control, improve a few word choices and collocations: “a minor dip” is less natural than “a slight decline,” and “highest proportion throughout the years” is imprecise when the data begin at different times. There are also spelling and form slips, notably “consitent,” and inconsistent capitalisation after sentence breaks. More exact trend language and careful proofreading would strengthen the vocabulary further.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and more developed sentence forms, and most of the country comparisons are understandable. Past-tense reporting is generally controlled, as in “The USA had an initial proportion” and “France’s proportion increased.” Some errors remain in sentence boundaries and punctuation. “Finally, Korea had the lowest proportion of around 25% initially, it increased…” joins two independent clauses with a comma; use a full stop or a conjunction. The fragment “Followed by Australia’s rise…” should be attached to the preceding sentence or rewritten as a complete clause. There is also faulty punctuation in “Where, the USA” and an unnecessary capital in “Additionally, From.” Editing these patterns would improve accuracy while preserving your range.
