Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response identifies several countries and gives a broad sense that rates generally rise, but it does not provide a clear, accurate overview of the main features across all nine countries. Some key details are misreported: Australia is projected at about 64% in 2020, not 45%; France is around 44% in 2019, not 45% in 2025; and Korea rises from about 25% to 35%, rather than remaining at 25%. The account also says Canada’s rate was controlled and decreased, although its overall trend is a modest rise from roughly 50% to 55%. To make the summary more complete, state the overall pattern and identify the highest and lowest projected rates, then support these points with accurate comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response moves through several countries in a broadly understandable order, and phrases such as “after a decade” and “then” help show sequence. However, it is presented as one long paragraph, with no distinct overview or clear grouping of the countries. The repeated country-by-country pattern also makes the progression feel like a list rather than a comparison of the main trends. Some links are awkward or unclear, as in “Then a it started to increase a bit,” and punctuation is often missing between sentences. Organise the response into an introduction, an overview, and one or two detail paragraphs grouped by higher and lower rates; use linking phrases to make comparisons explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses enough basic vocabulary to communicate the topic, including “overweight rate,” “increased,” “decreased,” and “predicted.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “performing great in this regard,” “standing in 35 percent,” and “reach till 75 percent.” There are also spelling and word-form errors, including “Australlia,” “overweighr ration,” and “vreached,” which reduce clarity and control. Choose neutral, data-focused language and use standard collocations for describing figures and trends. For example, say that a rate “stood at” a percentage or “is projected to rise to” a figure, rather than using conversational or unclear phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts to connect events over time using clauses such as “after then constantly kept increasing,” but most sentences rely on simple patterns, and attempts at longer structures are often faulty. Errors include “expected to reached,” “it kept increasing and expected to reach,” and “in decade it only increased,” where verb forms, subjects, or articles are missing or incorrect. Sentence boundaries and commas are also inconsistently handled, for example in “USA,it was 45 percent” and “in 1990,it kept.” These problems sometimes make the timeline or meaning difficult to follow. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and projected forms, such as “rose” and “is expected to reach,” and separate complete sentences with appropriate punctuation.
