Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You identify the topic and name all nine countries, and you attempt to compare groups of rates. However, the response does not provide a clear overview of the main trends across the period: most countries rise, the USA finishes highest, and Korea remains lowest. Some figures are inaccurate or unclear: Korea is about 25% initially, but the other countries are not all between 30% and 40%; by the end, Australia is around 64%, England about 69%, and Spain about 55%. The claim that the USA reaches 75% is close to the approximate chart value, but the description lacks a reliable account of changes over time. The response is also 10 words below the 150-word minimum. Add a concise overview and select accurate start-to-end comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to move from an introduction to descriptions of the countries and then a concluding comment. Naming the countries and using connectors such as “further more” and “more over” shows an effort to link ideas. However, the information is not arranged into a clear comparison of trends, and the final recommendation about international-relations students does not follow from the graph task. Several sentences are fragments or difficult to follow, such as “included USA, Australia…” and “Korea is mitigate rates show in graph.” Group the data into a clear overview and one or two body paragraphs, and use linking phrases to show contrasts and changes rather than adding unrelated commentary.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “proportion,” “rates,” “countries,” and “projected future,” so the subject is recognisable. There are also attempts to vary wording, but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and make the meaning difficult to interpret: “weightage,” “compression of centuries,” “mitigate rates,” and “lightweight rates.” “Highly recommended information” is also not an appropriate description of a graph. Aim for precise, conventional language for describing data, such as “overweight rate,” “period,” “rose,” and “remained the lowest.” Check spelling and word forms, and avoid using elaborate expressions when a straightforward chart-description term is clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response includes some simple sentence attempts and a few clauses, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors often make the intended relationships unclear. For example, “The given graph illustrate” has subject–verb disagreement, while “in graph lines shows” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Articles and sentence boundaries are also problematic in “In this image describe about different state high rates values.” Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, including the run-on opening and extra spaces before words. Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and practise accurate present-tense forms such as “The graph illustrates…” and comparison structures such as “The USA’s rate rose to…”.
