Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the broad pattern of rising rates and correctly note that the USA is highest and Korea lowest by the end of the period. Several figures are also broadly accurate, such as the USA reaching about 70% in 2010 and Korea rising from roughly 25% to 35%. However, the overview is too general and some key comparisons are missing. The claim that Korea has the lowest rate “in all countries” is not supported across the whole period, and Australia is described as reaching 63% in 2020, whereas the chart shows about 64%; more importantly, Canada is said to exceed 63%, although it is around 55%. Spain’s trend and the figures for Austria, Italy and France are also unclear or inaccurate. Select the main highs, lows and contrasting trends, and report them precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an opening, an overview and a detail paragraph, and it generally moves from the USA and England to other countries. This gives the reader some basic organisation. However, the progression within the detail paragraph is difficult to follow because many countries are compressed together, and some statements are repeated or unclear. For example, the discussion of Austria, Italy and France is followed by a separate Australia description, making the country sequence confusing. Linking phrases such as “After this” and “Moving to the details” are used, but connections between comparisons are limited, while “its” is repeatedly used without a clear reference. Group countries by similar rates or trends, and use clearer transitions and references.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant trend vocabulary, including “rose,” “dropped,” “surged,” “fluctuations” and “lowest rate,” so the general subject is understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the data difficult to interpret. Phrases such as “in the near of 1990,” “constant rates,” “a lagre number of fluctuations” and “third country with largest rate” do not express the intended comparisons naturally. Spelling errors, including “Itlay,” “Austrila” and “flucutuations,” are also noticeable. Use precise language for approximate dates and values, and check country names and common collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There are attempts to combine ideas and describe changes over time, but sentence structures are mostly simple, and errors occur frequently enough to make some relationships unclear. Examples include “then its dropped,” “In England, its started,” and “which further rose 75%,” where verb forms or sentence construction are faulty. Articles and agreement are also inconsistent, as in “The canada” and “The Austria,” while punctuation is often missing after full stops or commas. The long sentence listing several countries contains fragments and unclear links. Practise accurate past-tense reporting, subject–verb agreement and complete sentence boundaries; then add a few controlled complex sentences to compare trends.
