Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the broad pattern that the USA and England are among the highest, while Korea is lowest, and you include several relevant figures, such as the USA rising from about 45% to 75% and Korea from 25% to 35%. However, the overview is unclear and some comparisons are inaccurate or unsupported. Australia is described as reaching 65%, although the graph shows about 64%; France ends near 44%, not 45%, and Italy ends near 45.5%, not 44%. The claim that Canada remained stable overlooks its overall rise from roughly 50% to 55%. The response also does not clearly distinguish historical data from projections or summarise the overall upward trend across most countries. Select the main patterns and report them accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, an overview, a detail paragraph and a concluding sentence, so there is an attempt to organise the information. However, progression is difficult to follow because the overview and conclusion repeat country rankings without clarifying them, and several comparisons are crowded together. For example, “Canada and spain, canada remained stable” repeats Canada and combines two trends in a confusing way. Linking words such as “Overall,” “Furthermore,” and “Whereas” are used, but some do not show a clear relationship between the ideas that follow. Group countries by similar trends or levels, and use each paragraph for a distinct purpose. Clearer sentence boundaries and more precise references would make the comparisons easier to track.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “proportion,” “projected,” “percentage,” and “reached,” which helps communicate the topic. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “weight rates,” “second rank accounted for,” and “reached at peaked.” Spelling errors—including “persentage,” “countreies,” “Scondly,” and “overwight”—also make parts of the response harder to understand. Use standard terms such as “overweight rate,” “proportion of the population,” and “rose to,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary for trends, such as “increased steadily” or “remained broadly stable,” would help you describe the data more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There are attempts to form longer sentences and use clauses, for example, “While, Australia second highest proportion of the rate begun in 1990…” However, sentence structures are often incomplete or faulty, and errors frequently make relationships between ideas unclear. The opening sentence lacks a clear grammatical structure, while phrases such as “USA starting stage 45%” and “Canada remained stable in the weight” omit necessary sentence elements or use them incorrectly. Tense and agreement are also inconsistent, as in “rates are USA and England.” Punctuation is unreliable, with commas attached to words and sentence boundaries unclear. Practise writing complete subject–verb sentences, then combine them with accurate linking clauses.
