Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the broad pattern that the USA is highest and Korea lowest, and you mention several countries, so the response is relevant to the graph. However, the overview and comparisons are only partly accurate or developed. The USA rises from about 45% to 74%, not from almost 50% to a doubled rate; England begins later, around 47% in 1991, rather than at the same starting point as the USA. Australia rises steadily to about 64%, but does not reach number one. The claim that Canada and Spain follow the same trend is too general, and the country ranking for Austria is unclear. Select the main contrasts and support them with accurate start and end figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a broad overview, and further country comparisons. Linking phrases such as “Overall” and “On the other hand” help signal shifts, and the countries are generally discussed in related groups. However, progression is not consistently clear: the paragraph moves quickly from the USA and England to Canada, Spain and Austria, then to Australia and several other countries without a clear organising principle. Some references, such as “the same trend” and “the same point,” are difficult to interpret. Group countries by high, middle and low rates, and use clearer links between comparisons so the reader can follow the data more easily.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for describing trends, including “rose,” “constant rising,” “slow start” and “overweight ratio.” However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the intended comparison unclear. For example, “mark elevation” is not a natural description of a rise in a rate, while “copies USA” and “remain in the competition” do not fit this graph. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “korea,” “cataegory,” “begining” and “comparativel.” Use precise trend language and check spelling; terms such as “proportion,” “increased steadily” and “remained the lowest” are more suitable for this task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors occur often enough to make some relationships difficult to follow. For example, “Canada and Spain follows” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “then rises” does not maintain the past-tense pattern used in the description. The sentence beginning “America showed a mark elevation” also has an unclear structure, while “The lastly Korea having least overweight ratio” is not a complete, well-formed sentence. Punctuation spacing is inconsistent, and some sentences run several ideas together. Practise accurate past-tense reporting, agreement, and complete sentence construction before adding more complex clauses.
