Student answer (Band 6.0)
Science should play an important role in making the life of human being easier. Even it played a well role in the lives of people in the past but with the passage of time it should be enhanced to a large extent.
I'm discussing about the different aims of science in case of improve the lives of the people.
The Science should play an important role in the field of medical. It should help people by making new vaccines or introducing new treatments in the medical field. These all revolutions help to make human life easier.
In the field of transportation system, Science should play an important role in travelling purposes of people. With its help people are able to cover their journey very fast due to advancement in transportation system.
The 3rd way is to improve people lives by improving their environment and food resources. If science works for the betterment of food and water then it will ultimately help in decreasing the ratio of diseases which are prevailing in the society.
The 4th way is to work of science on the space exploration projects. It helps in the understanding of weather updates which is ultimately help in making the strategies regarding flood and rain.
I totally agree about all these statements which I had made in the previous context. The science could improve people lives, if scientist work on the current circumstances in which people feel difficulty in their daily livings.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the role of science in improving human life. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide four distinct areas (medical, transportation, environment, and space), these points are presented as a list rather than being fully explored or supported with specific, detailed examples. The position is clear, but the essay lacks the depth required for a higher band. To improve, focus on developing two or three points in greater detail, explaining 'how' and 'why' science achieves these improvements, rather than simply stating that it does.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into short, distinct paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'The 3rd way', 'The 4th way'). The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt, and the concluding paragraph is somewhat repetitive of the introduction. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your ideas more fluidly, such as 'Furthermore', 'Consequently', or 'In addition to this', rather than relying on numerical lists.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'play an important role' are used multiple times, which limits the range of your expression. There are also some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'in case of improve' (should be 'in terms of improving') and 'travelling purposes of people'. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary related to scientific advancement and societal impact, and avoid repeating the same phrases throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader, such as 'Even it played a well role' (should be 'Although it played a significant role') and 'Science should be helped' (should be 'Science should help'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage (e.g., 'the medical field' vs 'medical field') also need attention. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic tense and article consistency.
