Student answer (Band 6.0)

The most important aim of science should be to improve people's lives. I agree with this statement on a large scale because the most important work and purpose of science's existing is to make the attitude of people's life better and much easier. People are inventing more and more advance things to improve the quality of everything and make life more easier.

This is the major purpose of AI's existence in the world. Artificial intelligence is getting more advance and advance in future.

If we take an example of the science, science invented mobile phones which helps humanity a lot because now we can contact with everyone at anytime. In the past it was impossible to contact anyone at anytime, People have to travel for months and then deliver the important letters and other things but then science took over everything then the trains were invented then the travel made some easy because the travel of months were people making in weeks and days.

After 2020 the artificial intelligence and advanced computers took place and helped the humanity in many ways. Now we don't have any need to buy any books or reading stuff like that because we can get anything from the google and read it anytime online or download it for offline use.

Science also invented many other things like machinery which helps a lot in many fields of life.

So in this way science helps us in these many ways and all of us are thankful to science.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear agreement with the statement. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide examples like mobile phones and AI, the analysis remains superficial and repetitive. To reach a higher band, you need to extend your arguments by exploring the 'extent' of your agreement—perhaps by acknowledging that science also has other aims, such as pure discovery or environmental preservation, before concluding why improving lives remains paramount. The current structure is somewhat simplistic and lacks the depth required for a more sophisticated discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into short paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. Transitions between ideas are often repetitive or mechanical, such as the frequent use of 'and' or 'so'. There is a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices to link sentences and ideas effectively. For instance, the transition between the discussion of mobile phones and the mention of AI is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly improve the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'things', 'good', and 'make'. Phrases such as 'getting more advance and advance' are repetitive and grammatically awkward. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic language. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary (e.g., 'technological advancements', 'human welfare', 'facilitate') and avoid repeating the same words within the same sentence or paragraph.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include 'science's existing' (should be 'the existence of science'), 'make life more easier' (should be 'make life easier'), and 'contact with everyone' (should be 'contact everyone'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like double comparatives.
