Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a 'partly agree' position. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention the importance of science for daily life and technological development, the arguments lack depth and specific, logical support. For instance, the example regarding an 'Indian university' is vague and does not clearly illustrate how focusing only on people's lives would endanger technological progress. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph contains a clear topic sentence followed by a well-explained example that directly supports your thesis. The conclusion is present but repeats the introduction rather than synthesizing the main points effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'The extreme reason of it' and 'According to my perspective I partly agree with written phenomenon' sound unnatural and impede the flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'it' in the second paragraph, where the antecedent is ambiguous. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'nonetheless') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary range is limited and often imprecise. There are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'acts as a significant role' (should be 'plays a significant role'), 'masses's lives' (incorrect possessive), and 'culprits' (used incorrectly to mean 'tasks' or 'burdens'). The repetition of basic words like 'enhancement' and 'lives' suggests a need for a broader range of synonyms. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the frequent errors in word formation prevent the essay from reaching a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include incorrect article usage ('the evolvement', 'a recent study'), subject-verb agreement errors ('communities believed', 'science needs to give attention'), and punctuation mistakes, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb tenses.
