Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of the statement. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention medical and technical fields, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The personal anecdote about the ambulance is relevant but could be better integrated to support the broader argument about the purpose of science. To improve, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point rather than repeating the same idea that science makes life easier. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For example, the transition 'As we see to' is used repeatedly and is not standard academic English. There is a lack of variety in linking words, and some sentences feel disjointed. To reach a higher band, you should use a wider range of cohesive devices (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that the progression between sentences is smoother and more logical.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use the phrase 'make our life easier' and 'inventions'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'modren', 'medicences', 'diganose', 'orther', 'emergancg', 'emblance', 'inovetions', and 'successed'. These errors are frequent and occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on learning synonyms for common words and pay closer attention to spelling. Using more precise terminology related to the topic, such as 'technological advancements' or 'scientific breakthroughs', would enhance your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'Science make our life easy' (subject-verb agreement) and 'if we are not able to improve us their is no reason' (incorrect pronoun and homophone error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods. The frequency of errors is high enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, correct use of articles, and sentence variety.
