Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but it fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 217. This under-length significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the main points regarding health, agriculture, and technology are relevant, they are somewhat superficial and lack the depth required for a higher band. The conclusion is also quite brief. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed explanations and specific examples to ensure you meet the length requirement and fully develop your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Furthermore', and 'However'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the logical progression is slightly disjointed, such as the transition into the paragraph about space projects. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly supports your main argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive and lacks sophistication. There are several spelling errors, such as 'medecines', 'expetency', and 'palys'. Additionally, some word choices are imprecise, such as 'technical field' instead of 'technological field'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a broader range of vocabulary, including less common collocations and academic terms, while paying closer attention to accurate spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('science have also contributed', 'scientific innovation have improved'), incorrect verb forms ('helped prevented'), and missing articles. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading your work to correct common errors in tense and article usage.
