Student answer (Band 6.5)

It has been observed that the most important goal of science and technology should be to enhance the overall well-being of individuals. I strongly agree this statement. My preference is explained in the upcoming paragraphs with valid reasons and appropriate examples.

The fundamental reason for my stance is that, most of the innovations was invented only by the help of science, owing to this our overall lifestyle is also enhanced than the past. Therefore, Scientists' only goal should be to advance the technology and lower the problems of individuals, with these people's lives also improve, because innovations lower the issues of individuals and give them a more time to think on other parts. for instance, innovation of Artificial Intelligence gives convenience and reliability to individuals, which makes lives easier.

Furthermore, science subject is taught to student from the primary education, by this the interest of students is deeper from the childhood which should be enhanced the innovations. Nowadays, most of the people in science field which helps to improve the economy and technology.

However, it is not overlooked that, science is not only field in the world, there are other fields also which helps to improving the person lifestyles. However, science is only field by the help of it, new technologies and innovations are possible, so it has major part than other field in enhancing the lives of people.

To sum up, there are other field also by which person can enhance the life, but the aim of science should be on other levels. Science also improves the technology and made a lot of innovations, which improve the overall well-being of individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed the prompt and established a clear position throughout the essay. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, in the second paragraph, you mention that science helps people have more time for other things, but this point is not fully extended or supported with a concrete, logical explanation. Similarly, the third paragraph regarding education is a bit disconnected from the main argument about the 'aim' of science. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed argument that directly supports your thesis, providing more depth rather than just stating general observations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'However', and 'To sum up' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'by this the interest of students is deeper'. Additionally, some sentences lack clear internal cohesion, making the flow feel a bit disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your referencing (e.g., 'this', 'these') clearly points back to the intended noun or concept to improve the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'innovations', 'Artificial Intelligence', and 'well-being'. However, there is a lack of variety and some instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'science subject is taught' (should be 'science is taught') and 'lower the problems' (should be 'alleviate' or 'solve'). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise collocations and less common vocabulary to demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with verb forms and article usage, such as 'most of the innovations was invented' (should be 'were invented') and 'science is only field' (should be 'the only field'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are noticeable and frequent. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will also help you move into a higher band.
