Student answer (Band 5.5)

The most crucial aim of science should be to improve people's lives. to what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement i will demonstrate it with relevant examples from my own knowledge or experience. As we all know the technology and science is unbiqbous in the world. as before launch of science every thing takes a time but after the invention of science things became much linear. because of technology we updated all of the things that are happened in the world. the families are connected to their beloves that lived anywhere in the world. also its become much convenient for students the students can learn any type of material or any type of skills online due to science and technology. but due to technology if people can do their tasks rapidly its also became people more lazy. the significant number of people just used the phone and it may effect on their eyes. also alot of people swamped with their phone and lot of things may pending. subsequently it also .cause of depression mostly in young gernations the students addict with phone and have no concentration in studies and then they lost their academic records moreover a specific amount of students use it in positive way they may used it to enhance their skills and through their skills they may earn a lot of money so in my prospective every things have porns and corn so its completely up to us how we can rely on positively. we have to understand the crucials of aim of science

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the impact of science and technology on daily life. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention both positive aspects (connectivity, education) and negative aspects (laziness, health issues), the argument lacks depth and a clear, consistent position. The conclusion is somewhat vague and does not clearly state your final stance on whether the 'most important' aim of science should be to improve lives. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported idea that directly relates back to the prompt's core question.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks clear paragraphing, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of your argument. There is a lack of logical transitions between sentences; for example, the shift from the benefits of technology to the negative impacts is abrupt. You rely on basic connectors like 'also' and 'but,' which makes the flow feel mechanical. To reach a higher band, use a wider variety of cohesive devices (e.g., 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence to guide the reader through your reasoning.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'unbiqbous' for ubiquitous, 'beloves' for loved ones, 'gernations' for generations) and word choice issues, such as 'porns and corn' (pros and cons) and 'crucials of aim'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic terms and practice using collocations—words that naturally go together—rather than relying on informal or incorrectly recalled phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('science is unbiqbous'), tense consistency, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, such as 'subsequently it also .cause of depression'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing capital letters at the start of sentences and misuse of periods. While you attempt some complex ideas, the lack of control over basic grammar makes the writing difficult to follow. Focus on mastering simple, error-free sentences before attempting more complex structures.
