Student answer (Band 6.5)
World is a global village and developments in many field of Science such as Medicine, Biology, Chemistry, Technology etc. has been recorded since years marking a global and a country success. Science aims at the improvement of people's lives and I highly agree that Science should aim at improvising people's lives. This essay shall discuss the reasons for the same.
Science has been growing rapidly since last few years. Development is every field of science from Medicine to Technology has been marked. Many people are facing various issues in their daily life, science should be integrated to make their life better. For instance, many people in small villages still faces a lot of problems as clean water is not supplied to them. As they can't access clean water, it leads to diseases. Being poor they don't have enough money to deal with diseases thus end up dying. Science should be integrated in such a way that they can access to clean water just the way population of cities does.
Additionally, science has also led to the foundation of many vaccines. Vaccines for Polio, Cervical cancers have been found which leads to saving life of lot of people. Before this vaccines, this life taking diseases made it very difficult for the population. A lot of death were recorded due to this disease. Though a lot of development is taking place but still a lot of people die due to one or another disease. We often come across the growing number of people facing Cancer. Science needs to be developed so less number of people die due to cancer. People often are not able to detect cancer at early stage and when detected it is too late. So, science should develop something which can detect cancer in early stage and accurately protect people from dying.
I highly agree that science main aim should be on improving people's lives. If it fails to do so it doesn't matter if science has grown. If science fails to improve people's lives, development of Science will be of no use. During the time when corona was growing rapidly across the globe, a lot of people died in the starting but when science stepped in, vaccines were made to boost the energy to fight against Corona. As a result, it led to saving a lot of lives.
Thus, science make focus should always be on how to improve people's lives leading to a better and healthier tomorrow.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. The ideas, such as the need for clean water and medical advancements, are relevant and supported with examples. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the discussion of diseases and vaccines. While the position is clear, the essay would benefit from a more nuanced exploration of the 'extent' of the agreement, perhaps by briefly acknowledging counter-arguments or exploring the broader implications of scientific focus beyond just health. The conclusion effectively restates the position, but the overall depth of analysis remains at a mid-level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Additionally,' 'For instance,' and 'As a result,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive (e.g., starting multiple sentences with 'Science'). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother to better connect the concept of basic infrastructure with advanced medical research.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at using topic-specific vocabulary like 'infrastructure' or 'advancements,' but the range is somewhat limited. There are also instances of word-choice errors, such as 'improvising' instead of 'improving' and 'life taking diseases' instead of 'life-threatening diseases.' While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over collocations and word forms to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many people... still faces,' 'science make focus') and article usage (e.g., 'in many field of Science'). While the meaning is always clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. The student should focus on proofreading for pluralization and verb tense consistency to improve accuracy.
