Student answer (Band 5.5)

scientific advancement plays vital role in people's quality of life, it can be technological or medical advancement. I strongly believe main aim of science should be to enhance human being.

science has come through longway from sparking fire to allmost at verge of curing cancer. Moreover, scientific devlopment has helped human being grow inderstanding about universe, technology and biological being's. as an example, in past cooled was considered deadly and now it just take one small pill to cure cooled. scientific improvment has enhanced human life but somewere in between human lost true cause, that was to improve people's lives. Current science is more about bielding weapons and ways of mass killing human

Not so long back a breckthrough from elbert instain was used as a weapon of mass distraction. However, science has geven as more advancement that counts for enhancing people's lives like intigration of AI in daily lives of people and also couse of unemployment in current times

in my opinion, scientific enhancement has reshaped human lives in many way our ensisters had never imagened. Also, this doen't mean scientific improvment is bad, it means human should be more careful regarding what to do with all the knowledge thay have.

In conclusion, it is good we as an human had this knowledge to enhanse people's lives, but everything comes at a cost. we people should be well educated to whether persute perticular scientific advencement or not. Also, to consider the cost of lossing lives with perticular that advencement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that science should aim to improve human lives. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide examples like medical advancements and the mention of weapons, the arguments are somewhat superficial and lack depth. For instance, the transition from discussing medical cures to the negative impact of weapons is abrupt. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and logical connections. The conclusion introduces new ideas about education and ethical responsibility that were not fully explored in the body paragraphs, which limits the overall coherence of your argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow between sentences and ideas is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In conclusion', their usage is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'a breckthrough from elbert instain was used as a weapon of mass distraction', where the connection to the previous point is weak. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks a clear progression of thought. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea would significantly enhance the readability of your work.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and contains frequent errors in spelling and word choice, which occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'allmost', 'devlopment', 'inderstanding', 'cooled' (instead of cold), 'breckthrough', 'elbert instain' (Albert Einstein), and 'ensisters' (ancestors). These errors are noticeable and detract from the professional tone required for an academic essay. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'scientific advancement' and 'integration of AI', the range is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. You need to focus on accurate spelling and expanding your repertoire of academic collocations to improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include missing articles ('in past'), subject-verb agreement errors ('it just take'), and incorrect word forms ('biological being's'). Punctuation is also problematic, with several run-on sentences and missing commas that make the text difficult to follow. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, which limits your ability to convey nuanced arguments. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for punctuation errors to ensure your meaning is clear and grammatically sound.
