Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses the prompt by discussing the role of science in improving human lives and considering alternative goals like environmental protection. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention technology and medical facilities, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The position is clear, but the 'partial agreement' is not fully explored, as the second body paragraph is quite brief and lacks a strong connection to the main argument. To improve, ensure that each point is supported by a more detailed explanation or a more concrete, illustrative example to demonstrate a deeper engagement with the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'For instance', 'Additionally', and 'On contrary' (which should be 'On the contrary'). However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the idea of human convenience and environmental protection is abrupt. The referencing is generally clear, but the use of cohesive devices could be more varied and sophisticated to improve the overall progression of your argument. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different aspects of your discussion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'facilitate', 'infrastructure', and 'vanishing'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'Advent technology' (should be 'Advances in technology'), 'efficient people daily tasks' (should be 'make people's daily tasks more efficient'), and 'creational activities' (should be 'recreational activities'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations more accurately and expanding your range of academic vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the majority of goal'), subject-verb agreement ('science... make people work'), and preposition usage. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward phrasings that affect the flow. The errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules, especially pluralization and the correct use of articles, and try to vary your sentence structures with more accuracy.
