Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the role of science in improving human lives. However, the position is not consistently clear throughout the essay. While you mention benefits like medical advancements and green energy, the development of these ideas is limited and sometimes lacks focus. For instance, the mention of 'past civilizations' is tangential and does not directly support the argument. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the points made. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your arguments are fully extended with relevant examples rather than just listed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow between and within them is often disjointed. The transition between the benefits of science and the drawbacks is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as 'from the next coming paragraph' or 'another thing'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which occasionally impedes communication. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'heared', 'achivements', 'benifits', 'paitences', 'nanobotos', and 'eltro'. Additionally, word choice is often imprecise; for example, 'science alive them' is not standard English. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use less common items effectively. To reach a higher band, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic terms and practice using collocations (words that naturally go together) rather than translating directly from your native language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that affect readability. There are persistent issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and fragments (e.g., 'Might be heared about...'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are frequently incorrect, such as 'the sciences will be improve' and 'the drawback of the sciences has also'. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and pluralization before attempting more complex structures.
