Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of the statement. The ideas are relevant, focusing on medical and economic advancements. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on AI is quite general and lacks a deeper exploration of how science specifically improves lives beyond mere convenience. While the position is consistent, the supporting arguments could be more nuanced to reach a higher band. The conclusion is also slightly underdeveloped, as it trails off without fully synthesizing the main points presented in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly,' 'Secondly,' and 'In conclusion,' though some transitions feel mechanical or repetitive. There are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as the sentence 'When people face too much health issues in past, Nowadays, we find solutions of it.' Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the logical connection between sentences could be smoother to ensure a more natural flow of information throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate their ideas clearly. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'too much researchers,' 'dangerous ill,' and 'make a use of.' These errors do not prevent understanding, but they do indicate a lack of precision. To improve, the student should focus on learning collocations and using more academic vocabulary appropriate for an IELTS essay, rather than relying on basic or incorrectly applied terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'living standard increase'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'science developed too much researchers'), and misuse of articles or prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments and comma splices, such as 'if individuals want to improve their economy. they can make a use of...' While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures limits the score for this criterion.
