Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. While you mention health as a primary focus, the arguments are quite general and lack specific, concrete examples to support the claims. For instance, the mention of 'different research' is vague. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed illustrations or real-world examples of how scientific advancements specifically improve human lives. The conclusion restates the position but does not synthesize the arguments effectively, remaining somewhat circular in its reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. Phrases like 'in order to' and 'in order to make it better' are used frequently, which disrupts the flow. Additionally, some sentences are clunky, such as 'another essential reason of science should prioritize people's lives is that...', which makes the transition between ideas feel slightly forced. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is precise would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'improve' and 'better' repeatedly. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'act as catalyst for the government' (missing an article) and 'control death ratio' (which should be 'mortality rate'). To improve, focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and collocations that are appropriate for an academic context, rather than repeating the same simple vocabulary throughout the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'provide healthy lifestyle'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'in order to paying taxes'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'regarding improve their health'). While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with grammatical accuracy.
