Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the modern world, technology plays a significant role in humans' lives. Moreover, technology is beneficial in every domain such as robots, automated machines etc. The use of technology has become increasingly common and has attracted significant public attention. It has become a topic of widespread debate due to its impact on individuals and society. This essay will discuss both advantages and disadvantages and present my opinion.
To commence with, one of the major advantages is that technology is essential for every domain. To elaborate it, major companies are using Ai software for coding. Although, some developers are using as bug finder for save time and complete their work efficiently, automated machines are used in household works. For example, Tesla is known for its automated cars, Dyson is now launching its automatic vacuum cleaner. Thus, it is beneficial for individuals and society.
On the other hand, one of the major disadvantages is that use of Ai may replace humans and take their place. This is because Ai may work efficiently than human employers and it will work day and night, If individuals automated their businesses so technology can generate emails, calls and messages automatically and do not take rest. In Silicon valley, there is a big Amazon store and there are only machines who can pick the item, pack in box and machines will automatic delivered on their address. Hence, it may create several problems in long-term.
In my opinion, main goal of innovation is to enhance humans' lives and it perform well good but in future it will lead to lack of employment. Moreover, the use of ai will be beneficial for daily work but depending on it is dangerous for future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt, but the development is somewhat uneven. While you present both advantages and disadvantages, the prompt specifically asks for your opinion on whether the 'most important aim of science' should be to improve lives. Your essay focuses heavily on technology and AI rather than the broader concept of science. The position is clear, but the arguments regarding the 'most important aim' are not fully explored or balanced against other potential scientific goals. To reach a higher band, ensure your arguments directly address the specific philosophical premise of the prompt rather than drifting into a general discussion about the pros and cons of technology.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. For instance, the transition 'To elaborate it' is non-standard, and the flow between sentences in the second paragraph feels slightly disjointed. While you use linking words like 'Moreover' and 'On the other hand', the progression of ideas could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, but some sentences lack the necessary logical connectors to show the relationship between the evidence provided (e.g., Tesla, Amazon) and the main argument regarding the aim of science.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'automated machines', 'efficiently', and 'innovation'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'perform well good' and 'machines will automatic delivered'. These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the score. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that word forms (e.g., 'automatically' vs 'automatic') are used correctly. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, but it lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'some developers are using as bug finder for save time' (missing articles and incorrect preposition usage) and 'If individuals automated their businesses so technology can generate' (incorrect conditional structure). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, article usage, and the correct formation of conditional sentences.
