Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The argument linking 'science' to 'socialism' (likely meaning social cohesion) and 'traditions' is underdeveloped and lacks logical clarity, making it difficult for the reader to follow the connection between scientific advancement and these social concepts. While the second body paragraph provides a more concrete link between science and healthcare, the explanation remains superficial. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, well-reasoned examples that directly support your central argument rather than relying on general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the repetitive use of 'In the recent years' or 'In addition'. The flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from social gatherings to traditions feels abrupt. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the logical progression of ideas within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence builds naturally upon the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. There are instances of word-choice errors, such as 'reached on its peak' (should be 'reached its peak') and 'socialism' (which refers to a political system, whereas you likely meant 'social cohesion' or 'social bonds'). The phrasing is often repetitive, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic collocations. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('These inventions has', 'diet patterns... invites'), missing articles ('in the field of science'), and punctuation errors (missing spaces after commas and periods). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To achieve a higher score, you need to demonstrate better control over complex structures and pay closer attention to basic grammatical accuracy, particularly subject-verb agreement and article usage.
