Student answer (Band 6.5)
Many people think that improving people's lives should be the most crucial objective of science and i completely agree with this view because science has the potential to exchange risky human jobs with artificial intelligence and incorporate sophisticated technology in everyday life to make everything effortless.
One of the major capability of science is to exchange life threatening works with automation or AI. There are many jobs that require workers to endanger their lives for the shake of the society such as, construction of high rise buildings or mining in isolated and dangerous places. These tasks can be done by robots or AI without harming anybody with proper investment and research in these fields. This way human involvement in such jobs can be significantly reduced. For example, at present mining in difficult regions are observed and done by robot and AI at first. If its safe to go inside then workers are sent for better effort. Moreover, these research would create more employment opportunities in the future, helping unemployment to reduce.
Another capability of science to make our lives easier is the invention of new technologies. Science has created amazing technologies like mobile, computer, IoTs and digital services to transform our daily tasks. For instance, we can connect to our loved ones living in another part of the world in seconds. Moreover, the digital services have make our lives fast paced with everything happening very effortlessly. As a result, our quality of life has improved significantly compared to before when we did not have science and its inventions. However, disadvantages can also be noticed such as too much screen time, privacy issues and carbon footprint. People with negative intension can turn science into a curse. Therefore we need regulations from authority to control it and this way we science can stick to its aim of improving people's lives.
In conclusion, i agree that science's most important aim should be to improve people's lives with AI and automation in risky fields and invention of useful technologies in our daily lives with regulations to have a control on its usages.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have clearly addressed the prompt and maintained a consistent position throughout the essay. Your ideas regarding the use of AI in dangerous jobs and the role of technology in daily life are relevant and well-supported with examples. However, the development of the counter-argument regarding the potential downsides of science is slightly rushed. To reach a higher band, ensure that the discussion of the 'negative intentions' or 'regulations' is as thoroughly explored as your main arguments. Overall, you have successfully met the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'For instance', and 'As a result' to guide the reader through your arguments. While the progression is generally smooth, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Additionally, ensure that referencing is always precise; for instance, in the second paragraph, 'these research' should be 'this research' to maintain clear cohesion. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate distinct ideas, which helps the reader follow your line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'sophisticated technology', 'fast-paced', and 'carbon footprint'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'exchange risky human jobs' (replace with 'replace') and 'for the shake of' (should be 'for the sake of'). There are also minor errors like 'negative intension' (should be 'intentions'). To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your vocabulary is consistently accurate to convey your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('digital services have make' should be 'have made') and incorrect article usage ('the invention of new technologies' vs 'the invention of a new technology'). Additionally, 'i' should always be capitalized. While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To aim for a higher band, focus on proofreading for small slips in verb tense and pluralization, and try to incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence forms.
