Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely impacts the development of ideas. While you state your position clearly in the introduction, the essay fails to fully address the prompt as it is incomplete. The arguments regarding healthcare are relevant but remain under-developed, and the second body paragraph is cut off abruptly, preventing a full exploration of the topic. To achieve a higher band, you must ensure you write at least 250 words and provide a complete, balanced argument with a clear conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with' and 'In addition to this' to link ideas. However, because the essay is incomplete, the overall progression of ideas is interrupted. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is unfinished, which disrupts the logical flow of the argument. To improve, focus on ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your ideas are fully developed before moving to the next point, and ensure you provide a concluding summary.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing such as 'big cities' and 'make peoples life better'. There are also some errors in word formation, such as 'technology equipment's' (should be 'technological equipment') and 'peoples life' (should be 'people's lives'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and ensure correct pluralization and possessive forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'It is often argue' (should be 'argued'), 'its significant impression' (should be 'its significant impact'), and 'people lives longer' (should be 'people live longer'). Subject-verb agreement and pluralization are inconsistent throughout the text. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring correct verb forms will help improve your score in this area.
