It is widely recognized that modern science and technology plays a crucial role in modern society. Some people believe that science is the most important goal should be improving individuals life style. Personally, I completely agree with this notion because of scientific progress can improve health, solve everyday problems, knowledge and skills, and I will discuss my supporting ideas further in this essay.

To begin with, one significant reason is that science has greatly improved healthcare. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position in the introduction and maintaining it throughout. The ideas are relevant, focusing on healthcare and economic/daily life benefits. However, the development is somewhat superficial; while examples like vaccines and solar panels are provided, the arguments could be extended further to explore the 'extent' of the agreement more deeply. The conclusion is a bit list-like and lacks a strong summary of the main arguments. Overall, the response is well-focused, but it stays within a safe, predictable range of ideas rather than exploring the topic with greater depth or nuance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'For instance' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by minor grammatical errors or awkward phrasing, such as the list in the final paragraph. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the internal cohesion within sentences could be improved to sound more natural and sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'renewable energy', 'diagnose', and 'economic development'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'improving individuals life style' (should be 'improving individuals' lifestyles') and 'their develop personal skills' (should be 'develop their personal skills'). To reach a higher band, the student should incorporate more precise academic collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that, while not impeding communication, are noticeable. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('science... plays', 'which can helps', 'technology has improves') and awkward sentence construction ('science is the most important goal should be improving'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the final paragraph contains a list that lacks grammatical parallelism. A wider range of error-free complex structures is needed to move into the 7.0+ range.
