Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited. While you mention robotics, AI, and Google, the explanations are somewhat superficial and repetitive. For example, the section on robotics focuses on household chores but does not deeply connect this to the broader philosophical aim of science. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a more analytical exploration of the topic rather than just listing examples. The conclusion is a bit vague and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. Aim to provide more depth in your supporting points to move into a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the repetitive use of 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Lastly'. Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. For instance, the jump from discussing robotics to ChatGPT lacks a smooth logical bridge. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects back to your main argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on basic descriptors like 'highly preferable' and 'brilliant invention' multiple times. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'boost human beings lives' instead of 'improve the quality of human life'. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition. Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary related to scientific advancement would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'there are numerous inventions has been carried out' (subject-verb agreement), 'take care of yourself' (incorrect pronoun usage), and 'it is need of every sing citizen' (missing articles and spelling). The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, article usage, and ensuring that your complex sentences are punctuated correctly. Proofreading for these common errors will significantly improve your score.
