Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response clearly addresses the prompt by taking a firm position in favor of the statement. The ideas are relevant and well-supported with examples such as household appliances and medical advancements. The argument is consistent throughout the essay. However, the development is somewhat predictable and could benefit from exploring potential counter-arguments or a more nuanced perspective to reach the highest band. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and contains a noticeable gap in the final sentence, which slightly impacts the overall development of the argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Primarily', 'Moreover', and 'Consequently' are used effectively to guide the reader through the argument. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. While the flow is generally smooth, there are minor issues with sentence-level cohesion in the conclusion, where a missing word ('t in ourroutines') disrupts the logical progression of the final thought. Overall, the structure is clear and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally appropriate and demonstrates a good range, including terms like 'paramount objective', 'instrumental', 'eradication', and 'pivotal'. There are some spelling errors, such as 'Conequently', 'efficency', 'intrduction', and 't in ourroutines', which suggest a lack of careful proofreading. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. The use of collocations is generally accurate, and the student shows an ability to use academic language effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures effectively. There is good control over grammar, with most sentences being clear and accurate. However, there are a few slips, such as the missing verb in 'has not only human lifespan' (missing 'extended') and the incomplete phrase in the conclusion. These are minor and do not cause confusion, but they indicate that the student needs to be more attentive to sentence construction and proofreading to ensure full grammatical accuracy.
