Student answer (Band 5.5)
Science is all about invention, innovation, experimentation, and implementation. With out any second thought, that science have a meaningful impact on human’s life, but to aim that it should only focus to make peopl’s life advance, with which i am not agree. In this essay i will argue to this claim, because i believe evironment and animals life are also vital just as human’s life.
To take in consideration, scientific innovations as significantly improve human life in every aspect, such as in health sector and technology department etc. For example, scientific annovations has played a crucial role for any country to defend against war, such as enhancing and making powerful weapons. But what if scientific discoveries may also include or take into consideration that how to overcome the environmental pollutions caused by the chemicals released into the air by these defensive system during war, such as toxic substances, which make these defensive system more destructive.
Moreover, different researchers, working for the betterment of human live, using noval drugs on animla models to identify its effects on animal before they are ready to use for peopls. It proves that human life is being more prioritised over animal life, which is morally a major concerne. Animals also have the right to live freely, as they also do have emotions and feel pain as well. For instance, when i was running a research project, my different lab mates uses mouse model for their research and in last step they sacrificed them to extract organs of their interest. I firmly belive that it is ethically wrong.
To some extand, scientific inventions should focuse to make human life easy, as human are the more abundant creatures on earth. But i do also believe that all creations have their own rights to live happy and peaceful.
To conclude, i urgue with the offer mentioned statement that enhancing people’s life should be primary concern of science. I strongly belive that science should sustain the balance among all creaters.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the idea that science should only focus on human life. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the argument regarding environmental impact is relevant, the discussion on animal testing is a bit personal and anecdotal rather than analytical. The conclusion is slightly contradictory, as the student states they 'urgue' (argue) with the statement but then says enhancing life should be a 'primary concern'. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments could be more balanced and logically structured to fully explore the 'extent' of the agreement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'To take in consideration' is not a standard transition, and 'To some extand' is misspelled. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, which helps the reader follow the argument despite the linguistic errors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but shows limited range and frequent errors. There are several spelling mistakes, such as 'evironment', 'noval', 'animla', and 'peopls'. Word choice is sometimes imprecise, such as 'defensive system' instead of 'defense industry' or 'military technology'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'innovation' and 'experimentation', the persistent spelling and collocation errors suggest a limited control over more sophisticated lexical items, which occasionally impacts the clarity of the message.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('science have', 'human are'), missing articles, and incorrect preposition usage ('with which i am not agree'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with apostrophes ('human’s life', 'peopl’s'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors is high enough to distract the reader and prevent the response from reaching a higher band score.
