Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear agreement with the statement. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you provide examples such as transportation, communication, and medical advancements, the discussion lacks depth and critical analysis. The essay is structured as a single block of text, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of your argument. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with more sophisticated reasoning and ensure that your position is supported by well-structured paragraphs that clearly separate your main ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks paragraphing, which is a significant issue for coherence. The ideas are presented in a single, dense block, making it difficult for the reader to identify the transition between your introduction, body points, and conclusion. While you use some cohesive devices like 'For instance' and 'Consequently', their usage is often mechanical or slightly awkward. The logical flow is hindered by the lack of clear structure. To achieve a higher band, you must organize your response into distinct paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of your argument, and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple phrasing such as 'modern things' and 'good way'. There are also several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'science providers is with modern things' instead of 'science provides us with modern technology'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'primitive' and 'economical', but these are not always used with precision. To improve, focus on learning collocations and more academic synonyms to express your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Science also play crucial role'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'In past people did not communicate with Thier relatives who live far moreover today...'. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often inaccurate. To progress, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and improving your use of punctuation to separate distinct thoughts clearly.
