Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is argue that Science and technology has been increasing nowadays so the most important aim of science should be to improve people's live and I strongly agree with this statement because science gives so many benefits to the people and it is make people live easily.

To commence with, science science give so many benefits to the people. This is because, today many individuals are highly depended on technology. For instance, mobile phone has gift of science Through this smart phone people easily access any solution without westing their time. It allows individuals to buy any thing on online platform people can buy a cloths and other necessary thing through using technology. As a result it make people life convenient and and save their time.

Moreover, it make people live easily such as, Japan is one of the best developing country and many technology have come from Japan. Japan introduce a robot that help in household work and any office work. One of the efficient development of science is AI because it is useful in students life for the study through AI people also can work fact than before. Hence, this type technology improve people knowledge and gives a opportunities to the student at schools and colleges.

However, this kind technology comes with some disadvantages such as, people and mostly student depended on technology and they try to fine any solution without paying any hard-work and attention in the classroom. Therefor, they loos their ability and being depended on other easily.

In conclusion, Although science have some disadvantages but it is comes with so many merits and I firmly agree with this view because it improve peoples life and also improve student knowledge. In future people are more intrasted to use new things about science and technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of science improving lives. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention mobile phones and AI, the explanations are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the argument about Japan and robots is a bit disjointed and does not fully explore the 'extent' of the agreement. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced arguments, perhaps acknowledging that while science improves lives, it must also be balanced with ethical considerations, rather than just listing benefits and a single disadvantage.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'This is because', 'Moreover', 'As a result'). There are also instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'science science give' or the repetitive use of 'it make people live easily'. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the occasional confusion in referencing make the cohesion feel somewhat basic.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use simple terms like 'benefits', 'things', and 'good'. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'westing' (wasting), 'cloths' (clothes), 'fact' (faster), and 'intrasted' (interested). To improve, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations. Currently, the range is just adequate to convey the basic meaning, but the frequent errors in spelling and word formation hinder the overall quality of the expression.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'science... has been', 'it is make', 'science have some disadvantages') and article usage. Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. For example, 'It is argue that' should be 'It is argued that'. These persistent errors, while not always preventing communication, occur frequently enough to impact the clarity of your writing. You need to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb forms and pluralization.
