Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, benefits of science has become a subject intense debate in modern society. Some people argued that the most essential aim of science should be to improve people's lives, while others oppose by saying that there are many other factors that are more significant than citizens. I strongly agree with the statement as the improvement of human's lives is indispensable. This essay will discuss the reasons why science should be used to improve individuals lives.
On the one hand, today is an era of technology in which Artificial Intelligence and machines can perform routine tasks, so the necessity is to use these machines to improve our lives. Moreover, in modern era science achieves success in many fields as scientists become successful in experiments of sowing crops that are out-seasonal , so these techniques should be shared with local farmers that can help them to run their kitchen.
On the other hand, scientists can also help our youngsters by giving them lectures at their educational institutions which can boost their confidence and they become encouraged to do something prodigious in their life. Furthermore, A survey conducted by the NASA in the year 2024 explained itself that 80% of students who take part in the seminars that conducted by scientists to encourage youth about the advancement are more successful.
In conclusion, from my perspective science is the thing that developed by human so it's primary goal would be to improve human's lives. Moreover, we have to take as many advantages as we can from science.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about 'sowing crops that are out-seasonal' is a good start but lacks specific explanation on how this directly improves lives beyond 'running their kitchen'. The second body paragraph attempts to link science to youth development, but the connection to the prompt's core theme—improving lives—is slightly tenuous. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed reasoning and concrete examples that clearly illustrate the causal link between scientific aims and the improvement of human welfare.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' to link your points. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence '...local farmers that can help them to run their kitchen.' The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs. Improving the variety and sophistication of your linking words would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'indispensable', 'prodigious', and 'advancement'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'subject intense debate' (should be 'subject to intense debate'), 'human's lives' (should be 'human lives'), and 'take as many advantages as we can' (should be 'take as much advantage as possible'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'benefits of science has become' (subject-verb agreement error), 'others oppose by saying' (missing object), and 'seminars that conducted by scientists' (passive voice error). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct use of passive voice, and ensuring that articles and prepositions are used accurately in complex sentence constructions.
