Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 194 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position in the introduction, the supporting arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient detail or specific examples. For instance, mentioning 'medicines' and 'vaccines' is a good start, but these points are not expanded upon to fully address the prompt. To improve, you must elaborate on your arguments with more depth and provide concrete, well-explained examples to ensure the task is fully addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In addition,' but the transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt, making the progression of ideas feel disjointed. The conclusion is also somewhat repetitive and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band score. There are several spelling errors, such as 'discovries,' 'techonology,' 'lake,' 'scientifice,' and 'theortical.' Additionally, some word choices are awkward, such as 'our life ruinned fastely.' To improve, you should focus on expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations and pay closer attention to spelling and word formation. Using more precise terminology would help convey your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'in this period technology,' 'another supporting points in favour this statement,' and 'if science no implements of this technology.' Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy is essential for a higher score.
