IELTS Writing Task 2 question

The most important aim of science should be to improve people’s lives. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give reasons for your answers and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

 

Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is widely argued that the primary objective of science should be to improve individual's lives. I strongly agree with this assertion, as science is the key in developing vaccines and plays important role in technology.

One main reason is, vaccines are important for our immune system. Now adays many diseases are preventable by vaccines. To develop these vaccines, it needs high professionalism in science. For instance, pharmacological companies are investing millions of dollars in reaserch related to science. For ths reason science is key in maintainig a sustainable life.

Another important reason is, tecnology contributes massively in our daily life. In this modern world AI is modernizing every aspects of our life. For instance, with ChatGPT I can search and know things that are not familar to me without asking others. To develop AI, fundamentals of science is required.

In conclusion, I believe science should play important role in upgrading peolpe's lives, because it has a major significance in medicine and technology.
