Lexical Resource5.0
Grammatical Range and Accuracy4.5
Overall5.0

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially, expressing a position while presenting limited and under-developed ideas. The writer mentions that science should improve lives and reduce climate change, but these points are supported with minimal reasoning and superficial examples, such as referencing robots doing homework or electric vehicles. Additionally, the response falls short of the minimum word count requirement, containing only 245 words, which impacts the overall completeness of the task execution.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation evident in the essay, with basic paragraphing and rudimentary transition attempts such as 'In my opinion' and 'In conclusion'. However, there is no clear overall progression throughout the text. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate or repetitive, and referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical development of ideas from one sentence to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic points related to science and technology. There are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word formation, such as 'scince', 'peoples lives', and 'imporatant', along with frequent spelling mistakes throughout the text. These lexical inaccuracies and limitations may cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the response from achieving a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writer demonstrates a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex sentences that are heavily flawed. There are frequent errors in verb tenses, articles, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'scince aim is developed' and 'temprature of earth increases'. These persistent grammatical errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and severely restrict the accuracy of the writing.
