Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the contemporary socity, the most significant perpose of science should be furnish individulas lives has become a matter of considerable deabte. It is often argue that the crucial aim of science should be enhance individuals life. I strongly agrrwith this view because, it should improve management skills and provide facilities regarding survival of life.

One of the principal reasons why i support this position is that science should enhance managment skills ,this is because peoples in their work filed have the huge pressure of work.so that they can easily get help by numerous software for putting data at a time. chatgpt, microsoft word, or websites . Science should give access for the employments to solve thier working issues on diffrent websites or tools. For instnace, Laptops, keypads, mobile phones are the scientific technologies, that can provide easiest way to hold all the work. Consequently this solution, demonstrating the significant impact on individual lives.

Another complelling reason is that science should give facilites. In other word, in hopspitals science should improv the oeprational skills of doctors in the field of surgery, that can enhnace the knoweldge of diseases.it shoul provide new type of equipments in hospital like automatic machines of digital x-rays,so that patients can easily analyze their disease or their crak bones without any help of specialit. As a result the charges of doctores that are give by patient to chek x-ray can be reduced.

In conclusion, i firmly belive that by this statment gives ideas for peoples. This is mainly beacause management skills and facilites, both have substantial implicationfor the socity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether the primary aim of science should be to improve people's lives, and takes a clear position in agreement. However, the development of ideas is limited and partially under-developed. For instance, the first body paragraph attempts to explain how science improves management skills through software like ChatGPT or Microsoft Word, but the reasoning remains basic and lacks deep elaboration. Similarly, the second body paragraph touches on medical facilities and surgical operations, yet the points are somewhat repetitive and lack fully explored examples. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the lack of thorough extension places this aspect of the writing at this specific level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the response. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is not always clear, as seen with transitions like 'In other word,' and repetitive sentence openings such as 'One of the principal reasons' followed immediately by 'Another complelling reason'. Pronoun referencing and logical connectors occasionally feel forced or lack smooth integration, preventing the progression from feeling entirely seamless, which aligns with a well-managed intermediate level of discourse organisation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. There are numerous noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation that draw attention and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. Examples include spelling errors like 'socity', 'perpose', 'deabte', 'agrrwith', 'managment', 'filed', 'employments', 'thier', 'diffrent', 'instnace', 'complelling', 'facilites', 'hopspitals', 'oeprational', 'enhnace', 'knoweldge', 'equipments', 'crak', 'specialit', 'doctores', 'chek', 'belive', 'statment', 'beacause', and 'implicationfor'. These widespread inaccuracies restrict the lexical score, as the writer struggles to control less common vocabulary effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response exhibits a limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside frequent attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are recurrent errors in subject-verb agreement, articles, punctuation, and prepositions within grammatical patterns. Examples of structural issues include 'furnish individulas lives has become', 'It is often argue that the crucial aim of science should be enhance', 'peoples in their work filed have the huge pressure of work.so that they can easily get help', and 'the charges of doctores that are give by patient to chek x-ray can be reduced.' These frequent errors require the reader to decode the meaning, characteristic of this developmental tier.
