IELTS Writing Task 2 question
The most important aim of science should be to improve people’s lives. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give reasons for your answers and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Imrpoving the life pf an individual should be a significant objective for scientific studies. I strongly concur with this purpose of science but it should also focus on some other crucial factors.
The chance of living a better life should be given to each individual on this planet. This can only be achieved with an extended focus of researchers on different aspects of life that can play a pivotal role in making lives better. For example, instead of researching into space and wasting a lot of money on doing trial research on moon and jupiter, scientists should only consider the research which can be fruitfull in making the lively standards of humans more better. This approach will ignore trial studies of other planets and help to appropriate use of funds.
Additionally, enhancing research concentration on human life can also help to treat with several deterimental epidemic diseases. This can be illustrated with an example of COVID where coronavirus enormously spread among major countries of world and due to lack of sufficient research and resources at that time, millions of people suffered from this disease and eventually died of this virus. So, it has become very obvious that, science is still lacking alot of research niches related to human life that can be slected for future research to prevent a disastrous diseases resulting in thousands of fatalities within short duration of time.
Furthermore, instead of just relying on scientific research, we should also try to make our lives better. For instance, we should try to keep ourself healthy and busy in an active lifestyle either by doing morning walks or having a healthy and hygienic food. These factors will also help us to strengthen our lifestyle without expending much money.
In conclusion, I believe that there should be priorities of scientific research on humans than on other planets so that they can live a good and imroved life on this earth but in addition, following a healthy life style will also assist in making the life better instead of just depending on science.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout, agreeing with the statement while introducing a nuanced viewpoint. Relevant ideas are presented, such as focusing on human health and epidemic diseases rather than space research. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack full extension. For instance, the discussion on space research relies on sweeping generalizations about 'wasting a lot of money,' and the argument regarding personal responsibility in the fourth paragraph feels somewhat tangential to the core prompt about science. Despite these uneven developments, the main tenets of the prompt are satisfactorily covered, placing the task response within the expected parameters.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from introduction to body paragraphs and conclusion. Each paragraph has a discernible central topic, such as prioritizing human health, combating epidemics, and individual lifestyle habits. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, although referencing and linking can sometimes feel a bit mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'Additionally' and 'Furthermore.' Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately to group related ideas together, showing the organizational features expected at this level while hinting at the clearer progression required for a higher band.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully communicating the writer's opinions. There are attempts to use less common items, such as 'pivotal role,' 'epidemic diseases,' and 'disastrous,' but these are accompanied by noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word form (e.g., 'imrpoving,' 'lively standards,' 'appropriate use' instead of 'appropriation of funds,' and 'slected'). Spelling errors also occur across the text, such as 'deterimental,' 'fruitfull,' and 'imroved.' These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score by demonstrating inconsistent control over less common vocabulary and spelling conventions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writing exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an ability to construct multi-clause sentences such as conditional and relative clauses. There are some errors in grammar, articles, and prepositions, including 'treat with several' instead of 'treat several,' 'major countries of world,' and 'priorities of scientific research on humans than on other planets.' Punctuation and sentence boundaries are generally managed well, and the errors present rarely impede communication, allowing the reader to follow the argument without significant difficulty.
