Student answer (Band 5.5)

Enhancing people's lives should be the crucial goal of the science.I stronglly agree with this statement because this is the need of the hour to help humanity to make their living easy. The sceince can play a very main role in the develpoment of there lives.

Starting from the use of technology in research, sceince should invent the mechanical resources to helpout the marginalized socities such as in africa which are currently facing a huge difficulty for food and water. To what think, they should start research why they are facing these issues or why there soil is not producing the corps. There research will bring positive outcomes and they will be benefitted by the actions, which will be taken according to the results.

On the other hand, like in the field of medicine science should do research on the dieseases which are still incurable such as cancer. I think there should a better way to treat the diabetes than injecting insulin daily for instance my late father who was diabetic had to hassled of using insulin daily. The science can play a vital role in the feild of medicine to prevent humanity from many loses. This can play a vital role in the lives of people that they can have a good medication services.

In conclusion, the most prior goal of the science should be to improve people's lives in the every feild including technology in research and medication. The existing machines and tools should be modified and there should also be research to invent more to make surgeries reliable.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the opening: you strongly agree that science should improve people’s lives, and the conclusion restates this view. The discussion is relevant and covers two useful areas—agricultural research to address food and water shortages, and medical research into cancer and diabetes. The personal example about your father gives the medical point some support. This meets the task well, but development is uneven: the agricultural paragraph raises questions about soil and crops without explaining what research or outcomes might help, while the medical paragraph could clarify how scientific advances would improve treatment. To strengthen the response further, explain the link between each example and people’s quality of life, and develop the supporting reasoning more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different fields, and a conclusion. The progression from technology and agriculture to medicine is logical, and phrases such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal stages in the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “To what think” does not clearly introduce the next point, and “This can play a vital role” in the medical paragraph has an uncertain reference. The agricultural paragraph also moves quickly from marginalized communities to soil and crops without a clear explanation of the relationship. Use more precise linking and refer back explicitly to the idea or example you mean.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “research,” “incurable,” “insulin,” “surgeries,” and “medication services,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “marginalized societies” and “positive outcomes.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make expression less clear, including “sceince,” “develpoment,” “dieseases,” and “corps.” Some combinations are unnatural, such as “mechanical resources,” “make their living easy,” and “had to hassled of using insulin.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, for example “improve living conditions,” “agricultural technology,” and “manage diabetes.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional-style explanation of research outcomes and the sentence beginning “I think there should…”. This shows some willingness to vary sentence structure. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence formation, articles, agreement, and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “The science can play a very main role,” “there should a better way,” and “they can have a good medication services.” The opening also joins sentences without a space after the full stop. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them: for instance, use “There should be a better way to treat diabetes” and “people can access good medical services.”
