Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the topic by arguing that science should improve people’s lives, while also introducing national development as another priority. The examples of messaging apps and online learning are relevant and help explain practical benefits. However, the position is not fully clear: the introduction says there are “some other factors,” and the conclusion shifts towards making a country “popular and well-recognized,” without explaining how this relates to the main claim. The national-development paragraph focuses mainly on global influence and defence, rather than weighing these aims against improving lives. Develop a consistent degree of agreement and explain more fully why each example supports it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Apart from that” and “In conclusion” make the stages easy to identify. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and links between claims are not always clear. For example, the move from a “developed country” attracting nations to becoming a global “super” power needs a clearer explanation. Some sentences beginning “As” or “Because” are left as fragments, which interrupts the flow. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each example directly to the point it illustrates; clearer referencing would also help readers follow who or what “them” and “those” refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “innovations,” “facilitate,” “development,” “contribut[ing]” and “defence system.” This gives you some means of discussing technology and national progress. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to follow: “make their live worth-living,” “challenge free system,” and “become the super of the world” are not natural expressions. Spelling errors such as “humantity,” “obtacles” and “consodered” are also noticeable. Build a bank of accurate phrases for discussing quality of life, access to education and national development, and check spelling and word forms carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “because of” and “who.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. For example, “providing a improved environment … can leads” has problems with the article and verb form, while “As new machines can be used…” is an incomplete sentence. There are also issues with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “their scientist contributtes.” Practise building complete sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses with accurate verb forms. Review articles, subject–verb agreement, and capitalization after full stops.
