Student answer (Band 5.0)

The most important aim of science should be to improve people's live because in today's modern world we are facing so many difficulties as science become modern and developed. Mainly if I talk about the AI, AI advancements are shaping our lives but somehow these are harm for us especially for a new generation including from Gen Z. These are the generation which take help or generate content for even a tiny problems it helps but on the other these generation are losing their skills especially brainstorming, writing and specking skills. so I my point of view science should have to improve people's live not destroy people lives not play with human mind. There should be a law's for these AI technologies and there should be a restrictions and age limit to protect the young generate to protect their lives from spoil because these technologies also impacting their mental health, patience and focus. Many of disease are recognized after the boom of science and technology for example ADHD and autism. The autism is the most adhesive disease which has been diagnosing in most of the children which are use these websites and technologies. They are spending their most of the times on screen even their parents don't want to even don't try to reduce their screentime because they are busy in their lives and don't have enough time for their children. So I my opinion their should be some detectors in modern devices to detect and lock the screen If children are using that gadgets more then enough time because we can't stop our child to learn from the modern world but we can take some actions to protect their lives and make science beneficial for them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a position that science should improve people’s lives and support it with a relevant concern about AI’s effects on young people. The suggestions for age limits, restrictions and screen-time controls also show an attempt to address how science could be made beneficial. However, the response only partly develops the question: it focuses almost entirely on AI and does not consider other aims or benefits of science, such as medical research or solving environmental problems. Some claims, particularly that autism is caused by technology use, are presented as fact without support and weaken the argument. Develop a more balanced explanation, use reliable or clearly framed examples, and make your degree of agreement explicit throughout. The response meets the task’s stated length requirement; 10 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a recognisable line of thought: you state your view, describe possible harms from AI, and propose safeguards. Linking phrases such as “especially,” “for example” and “on the other hand” show an effort to connect ideas. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the reader has little help distinguishing the main argument, supporting example and proposed solution. Several ideas are joined in long, loosely connected sentences, and transitions sometimes do not express the relationship clearly. For example, the move from AI’s effects to claims about ADHD and autism needs a clearer explanation. Organise the essay into an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, with each paragraph focused on one main point and linked logically.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “AI advancements,” “mental health,” “screen time” and “age limit,” which helps communicate your concerns. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “people’s live,” “adhesive disease,” “young generate” and “specking skills”; these appear to be attempts at “lives,” “serious condition,” “young generation” and “speaking skills.” Repetition of “these technologies” and “protect their lives” also limits precision. Build a wider set of accurate terms for discussing science and its effects, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise phrasing will make your argument clearer and more credible.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to express cause, contrast and conditions, for example in “because in today’s modern world” and “if children are using that gadgets,” so there is some effort to move beyond short simple statements. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “science become modern,” “these are harm” and “the generation which take help.” Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “a restrictions” and the run-on sequence beginning “so I my point of view.” These errors can make relationships between ideas hard to follow. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them accurately using conjunctions and punctuation.
