Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You state a relevant position—“I agree this statement”—and begin to refer to science’s role in people’s lives and the facilities it provides. However, the response only minimally addresses the question: it does not explain how science improves lives, give a specific example, or consider the extent of your agreement. The final idea, “many people,” is unfinished, so the argument cannot be followed or evaluated fully. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, leaving the task substantially incomplete. To develop your answer, explain two clear reasons, support each with a relevant example, and end with a conclusion that restates your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening statement is followed by a paragraph beginning “First and foremost,” which signals a reason. This gives the reader a simple starting structure. However, the ideas do not progress into a complete argument, and the second paragraph repeats that science plays a “significant” and “vital” role without explaining the connection. “As well as” does not clearly link the following point, and the ending “and many people” leaves the sentence unfinished. Use separate paragraphs for each reason, connect claims to explanations and examples, and complete each sentence so the relationships between ideas are clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “significant aim,” “vital role,” and “facilities,” so the general subject is identifiable. However, the range is narrow and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise: “play a significant role in human life” is repeated in similar form, while “science is a modern technology” does not express the intended relationship clearly. Spelling errors such as “modren” and “prospective” also reduce accuracy; the intended word is likely “perspective.” Aim for precise topic vocabulary and natural collocations, such as “scientific research,” “medical advances,” and “improve quality of life,” and check spelling during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both a longer opening sentence and a reason introduced by “First and foremost,” but most structures remain simple, and errors frequently affect accuracy. For example, “should be improve” needs an infinitive form (“should improve”), while “I agree this statement” requires “with.” In “science play,” the singular subject needs a singular verb, and the sentence beginning “As well as science…” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Capitalisation is also inconsistent, as “i” should be “I.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation before submitting.
