Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years there has been increasing debate about wether the most beneficial target of science ought to be facilitate individuals lives. I stongly agree that science aim should be to enhance people lives, as it provides technology tools and new discoveries for better life but many of us have different opinion.

It largely agree that science should have only one particular aim is to gives facilities for boost the human lifestyle in every feild of life like technology tools is used for the significance of daily routine in schools and companies to provide benefits for childrens growth. For example, different smart-phone industries brings up with new feature to gives useful features for the ease of human use in practical field as adding camera quality and upgrading battery percentage into next level. As a result these addtional links should have aim for the bright future of people livings not just for the profit purpose.

Another reason to support this idea is that, currently the trend of discoveries is being lost because companies now are just focusing on useless tools just for profit rather they gives us benfits but only for a limited time period so it is neccessery to invent useful tool for boosting human future, like invent flying cars with better speed as it can also facilitate human real to reduce the stress of transportation for every individual. It can also save time of travelling for the job holders and school students.

In conclusion, I completely agree that science have an huge impact on our lives as to enhance our lifestyle in many ways so it is become important for companies and organization to focus on creating new and useful tools for each and every individual for better life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion: you strongly agree that science should improve people’s lives. You also give relevant examples, including smartphone improvements and the potential benefits of flying cars. However, the response addresses the task only partially because the reasons are not consistently explained or supported. The smartphone example focuses on camera quality and battery life, but does not clearly show how these changes improve people’s lives beyond convenience. The flying-car idea is relevant but speculative and needs explanation of its wider value and feasibility. The claim that companies focus on “useless tools” is also broad and unsupported. Develop fewer points more fully, and clarify whether improving lives should be science’s main aim rather than its only aim.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. The ideas generally follow a sensible order, and phrases such as “For example,” “As a result,” and “Another reason” help signal development. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “It largely agree” does not clearly connect to the position, and the relationship between companies’ profit motives and the need for useful inventions is not fully explained. The first body paragraph also combines several ideas—schools, companies, children’s growth, and smartphone features—without a clear progression. Give each paragraph one main point, explain it step by step, and use referencing and transitions that make the connections explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “discoveries,” “technology,” “profit,” “transportation,” and “enhance our lifestyle.” This gives you enough language to communicate the general subject and your position. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to follow: “facilitate individuals lives,” “additional links,” and “human real” are unclear in context. Repetition of “useful,” “benefits,” and “life/lifestyle” also limits precision. Spelling errors such as “wether,” “stongly,” and “neccessery” are noticeable. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check spelling, word forms, and natural combinations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “because,” and “so,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Examples include “I stongly agree that science aim should be” and “It largely agree that science should have only one particular aim is to gives,” where subject–verb agreement and clause structure are not controlled. Other errors include “companies brings,” “science have,” and “an huge impact.” These recurring problems can make the reader pause to interpret your ideas. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles, and verb forms, especially in longer sentences.
