Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You express a general view that science should improve people’s lives, and you attempt to support it with examples involving communication and house design. However, the response addresses the question only minimally: it does not clearly explain the extent of your agreement, and the examples are difficult to connect to the central claim. For instance, the point about people communicating across countries is mentioned, but its benefits are not explained; the house-design example shifts to social media without showing how scientific research improves lives. The conclusion repeats that science changes lifestyles rather than drawing together a reasoned answer. State your position directly, then develop two relevant benefits of science with clear explanations or specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a concluding paragraph, so there is an attempt to organise ideas into a familiar essay structure. You also use signposting such as “One of the primary reason” and “A further consideration.” However, the progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow: ideas about science, digital media, communication, house design and lifestyle are joined without clear links. Phrases such as “The underlying the reason” and “put another way” do not clarify how one point leads to the next. The conclusion introduces further ideas about sharing problems rather than summarising the argument. Build each paragraph around one main point, explain it in a logical sequence, and use linking expressions only where the relationship is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

Your vocabulary is basic and repetitive, with recurring use of “people,” “life/lifestyle,” “helps” and “change.” You attempt topic-related expressions such as “modern technology,” “digital media” and “science research,” but several choices or spellings make the intended meaning hard to understand, including “change a behaviour living,” “intinerdiggner” and “the man way.” This places the response at a level where vocabulary errors strain the reader, rather than simply making the writing less precise. Aim to use a small set of accurate, relevant terms and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases for this topic—such as “medical advances,” “improve quality of life” and “enable communication”—would help you explain your ideas clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentence forms, including “Although it helps…” and “Having considered aspect of the issue…,” but control is limited and errors frequently obscure the relationships between ideas. For example, “it’s growing influence on people life style and change a behaviour living has become” has unclear sentence structure and agreement, while “when people faces different porblem than a science helps” contains problems with subject–verb agreement and clause construction. Articles, plurals, verb forms and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “One of the primary reason” and the run-on final paragraph. Practise writing clear simple sentences first, then combine them with accurate subordinate clauses. Check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
