Student answer (Band 5.5)

In contemporary society, role of science has become a considerable debate. some individuals say that the fundamental aim of scientific research sould be to enhance individuals life. I firmly agree with this view because technology can be widely used in health concerns and it can provide plateform for earning.

One of the principal reason why I support this position is that science can give stratigies to treat the diseases in hospitals to secure the patients. For instance, cancer is a harmful indicator for individulas so that doctors can easily diagnose the tumor by the help of digital technology, that invent by the science knoweldge. In addition chemotherapy is a technique that treat the uncontrolled growth of cell by changing new blood throuh the machines. As a result, cancer patients can easily survie for long term by the help of science thechnology.

Another compelling reason is that, science gives the oppertunities to make new websites and cahnnles through which employments can easily improve their financial condition. For example, workers can easily make website on google chrom and teach onilne student regarding education, bussiness and ideas to build up the future. In addition they save their time by using science technologies and recieve money by students or other young peoples that are teach to build new business. As a result they can make money and save it for future that gives positive impact on the life of each science user.

In conclusion, i strongly agree that most important aim of science should be to improves peoples life because diseases are more dangrous than previous decades and the treatment cost of these kinds of disease are very high so we should follow science technology or use it to improve financial conditions that can cause long survival of citizens life .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you agree that science should improve people’s lives. You address the prompt with two relevant areas—medical treatment and opportunities to earn income—and give examples such as cancer diagnosis and online teaching. This covers the task, but the two reasons are not developed equally clearly. The medical example includes several details, although the explanation of chemotherapy is difficult to follow; the employment paragraph makes broad claims about websites and income without showing clearly how scientific progress produces these benefits. To strengthen the response, explain the link between each example and your central argument more precisely, and consider acknowledging that science may also have aims beyond immediate practical benefits.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from health benefits to economic opportunities is easy to identify, and signposts such as “One of the principal reason,” “Another compelling reason,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This is a coherent arrangement, though some connections are mechanical or unclear. “As a result” is repeated, and references such as “these kinds of disease” and “each science user” do not point clearly to a specific idea. Within the body paragraphs, explain the relationship between claims and examples more smoothly. More varied linking and clearer referencing would make the progression feel more natural and controlled.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “scientific research,” “diagnose,” “chemotherapy,” “financial condition,” and “positive impact.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the message difficult to understand: “stratigies,” “individulas,” “knoweldge,” and “oppertunities” are examples. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “harmful indicator” for cancer and “make website on google chrom.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Replacing vague or repeated wording with precise terms—for example, describing how medical technology detects tumours or how online platforms support employment—would improve clarity and show more control of vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “so that,” and “through which.” This gives the response some structural variety, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “chemotherapy is a technique that treat” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “the treatment cost … are very high” has a mismatch between subject and verb. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “role of science” and the long final sentence, which lacks clear punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a clearly attached supporting clause, then check agreement and punctuation.
