Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a clear position in favour of the statement and give relevant examples, especially the phone and modern transport, to show how science can make daily life easier. However, the response addresses the task only partially: both main points repeat this general benefit, and there is little explanation of why improving lives should be science’s most important aim rather than, for example, expanding knowledge or addressing environmental problems. The examples are asserted rather than developed, and the conclusion mainly restates the introduction. The response is 228 words, so it is 22 words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop distinct reasons and explain their significance.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

Your response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “The first reason” and “The second reason,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and the two reasons largely repeat the idea that science makes life easier. Linking phrases such as “Thats why” are used repeatedly, sometimes where a fuller explanation is needed, while several sentences run together without clear punctuation. For example, the phone example is attached directly to the preceding claim. To improve, give each paragraph one distinct central idea, separate claims from examples, and use a wider range of accurate links between them.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “inventions,” “modern transportation,” “global village,” and “destination,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “science,” “very easily,” and “important.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “I am agreed,” “very authentic” for a reason, and “by the help of science.” Frequent spelling errors—including “beause,” “siene,” and “whih”—also make the writing less clear and reduce control of vocabulary. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully; using precise alternatives for repeated words will make your argument more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example by using “because” and “which,” and you include both statements and examples. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic grammar, sometimes making the reader work to understand the meaning. Examples include “science have doing” and “our science world become,” where verb forms and agreement are faulty, as well as “we an travel,” where the sentence structure is incomplete. Articles, tense, and punctuation also need attention; several sentences begin with “For example” but are joined to the previous sentence without a full stop. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
