Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You state a relevant position—“I agree with this statement”—and give examples involving medical treatment and agriculture, so the response addresses the topic. However, the reasons are only minimally developed: the discussion of disease treatment is difficult to follow, and the agriculture point is repeated rather than explained with a specific example of how science improves people’s lives. The introduction and conclusion also repeat the claim without adding a clear qualification or further reasoning. The response is 246 words, four words below the required minimum; the 10 words copied from the prompt were not counted. To strengthen the answer, explain each example clearly and show how it supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic essay shape, with an opening, two body paragraphs introduced by “Firstly” and “Furthly,” and a concluding sentence. These markers show an attempt to organise the ideas. However, the progression within paragraphs is often hard to follow: the opening moves from science being powerful to an unclear claim about its aim, while the second body paragraph shifts from disease treatment to machinery and agriculture without clear links. Repeated use of “therefore” does not always show a logical relationship, and references such as “that food provides” are unclear. Use one main idea per paragraph, connect each example explicitly to your argument, and make pronoun references precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “scientists,” “diseases,” “treatment,” “machinery,” and “agriculture,” which helps identify the subject of your examples. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations often make the meaning difficult to understand. Phrases such as “scientical method,” “people death,” and “provide solve the all disease treatment” are not natural or clear. The repeated use of “science provide” also limits precision. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and word forms; for example, describe how scientific research “develops treatments” or “improves agricultural productivity” rather than repeating “provide machinery.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
You attempt to connect ideas with clauses using words such as “because,” “when,” and “if,” but sentence structures are very limited and frequent errors sometimes distort meaning. For example, “Because every thing produce scientist with science” is an incomplete and unclear sentence, while “people should that aim in life with science” lacks a workable grammatical structure. Verb forms and agreement are also unreliable, as in “Science provide” and “people death.” Articles, plurals, and punctuation are inconsistent, and several sentences run together. Practise forming accurate simple sentences first, then add one clear subordinate clause at a time. Check that each sentence has a subject and verb, and that verbs agree with their subjects.
