Student answer (Band 5.5)
The out waeigh of science should be to improve indivisuals lives . Science can help citizens by making their daily routine easy or by provide benefits.
Initially ,Science should be more practical then compare to recent years .
Scientific advansments helps indivisuals by providing modern scientific tools that can help to work fast and low hardwork .Science makes our daily easier then conpare to our past for instance now we have cars ,bikes, busses and even air planes therefore we can cover any distance in hours but in past citizens usually used camels and horses therefore they covered a small distance even in weaks or months. In this way the science makes our daily life easier .
Science also helps us in aggriculture and reduces our daily life terrible moments for example now we can know about the future like wrather for instance we can know about bad weather before two or three days even a week before therefore when we have some really important works in our fields or we want to attend any social gathering or event so really we can prepare our self for the future difficulties .In this way the scientific equipments really helps us a lot and play a beneficial role to our enviornment and absolutely in our society .
Overall,i would like to say that initiall and crucial step of science is to improve the lives of citizens in both like scientific advancments should makes everyones life easy and should be more practical also improve the medical facilities .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that science should improve people’s lives, and you give relevant examples involving transport, agriculture, weather forecasting and medical facilities. The transport example explains how modern vehicles save time compared with camels and horses, while the weather example shows how forecasts help people prepare. These points address the question, but they are not developed equally: the agriculture point is named without explaining a specific scientific improvement to farming, and medical facilities appear only in the conclusion. To strengthen the response, explain how each example demonstrates science improving lives and consider briefly acknowledging another aim of science, such as expanding knowledge, before reaffirming your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening position, two supporting paragraphs and a concluding statement. Sequencing phrases such as “Initially,” “for instance” and “Overall” help signal the direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined into long sentences, and connectors such as “therefore” are repeated. The weather paragraph moves from agriculture to forecasts and then to social events without clearly separating these points. Use one main idea per paragraph, make the relationship between examples explicit, and vary linking expressions. Clearer sentence boundaries and more precise references would make the overall organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “scientific tools,” “weather,” “medical facilities” and “scientific advancements,” so the reader can understand the subject of your argument. There are also attempts to express specific ideas, such as “cover any distance in hours.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are noticeable, including “indivisuals,” “advansments,” “aggriculture” and “enviornment.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “daily life terrible moments” and “low hardwork,” which make parts of the message harder to interpret. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, for example “reduce physical effort” and “make daily life easier.” Aim for precise wording rather than repeating broad terms such as “help” and “easy.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences that explain causes and examples, including the comparison between modern transport and travel in the past. This shows some range, but complex sentences are often difficult to control. For example, “Scientific advansments helps” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “science makes our daily life easier then conpare to our past” does not form a clear grammatical comparison. Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “the scientific equipments really helps us.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause. Check agreement, verb forms and punctuation before adding further clauses; this will make your ideas easier to understand.
